This is my first jamboree this year. My last one is Kayuh Lasak last year. I’m quite selective on joining cycling events this year because of other commitments.
As usual, we planned to drive to Kulim at 4am but only 5am we started moving. We stopped for fajr prayer at a mosque at Kulim and had our breakfast after that.
I planned to carry my DSLR and to start at least 15 minutes early so I could shoot the leaders. But we are late. So Plan B, just ride and enjoy.
- http://www.danishevent.com – Organiser (They did a very good job but just short of 100+)
- http://www.kulim2011.com – Event website (I think this site will be down next year because of the year in URL which surely not relevant next year
Some data from my Garmin Edge 705. The data in bracket are from The Gr8 Kayuh Lasak last year.
- Distance: 41km (50km)
- Total ascent/descent: 752meter (1532meter)
- Calories: 2363 (4326)
- Highest peak: 219m (580m)
Looking at the figures, Kayuh Lasak is twice as hard as Kulim.
I tilted the image in Google Earth and spinned 180° so I hope I can show the terrain and elevation. Click the image for larger image.
