She converted to Islam a year ago and gained fame on youtube. She was 18 and from Australia. She gained interest in Islam while living in Indonesia.
She posted a lot of videos on Islam and she made a lot of friends and had a lot of fans. Her story even appeared on TV in one of Arab country. She changed too fast and even engaged to a Pakistani. Friends around the world sent her gifts especially her friends from Indonesia. You can google kimdonesia to see her present on the net
I was one of her fan. I like converts stories. Story of converts really moves me. I always wonder how converts see the beauty of Islam. I even made a collection of converts years ago – http://daawah.com/links/islamconvert.html

Then, yesterday I found out that she left Islam. All previous accounts on youtube and blogspot were removed or deleted. She now has a new channel at http://www.youtube.com/lifeaccording2kim
She posted a video on why she left Islam. The first reason she said because of the death of her dog. I did not watch the rest of the video. That first reason make me realise how vulnerable people faith is. I just wonder what if we are tested by Allah SWT – how strong are we?

KimDonesia, it will take time for some of them. Your followers adored you and you dropped a bomb on them. There are other ways so that the impact won’t be that drastic.

Very sad story, and today i’m losing my best friend. He die in the motorcycle accident at the KL. Even though it was a very sad news, but i believe Allah love him most. Al- Fatihah.

Never really understood why so many people liked this bogan chick, or are so “surprised” at her “deconversion”. I saw some of her videos, and my first impression was that she looked like a little girl playing dress ups for the camera, not a serious convert. Faith finds its way into peoples hearts in different ways, sure, but in her case, that she would apostatize over a pet doesn’t surprise me. That people are actually surprised, THAT surprises me.

Hello, Thanks for the instructive and cool videos, well those who consider Kimdonesia a “woman” should remember that she is just a 18 year old teenager, as for her story it could be summurized by what Kimdonesia’s mom said about her daughter’s conversion: “I thought that it was one of your fads”.
Well, I am a Muslim born myself and found that Western converts to Islam cool including Kimdonesia (whatever you may say or think about her religious affiliation), God bless you all.

This is to Kim, I would like to first give my condolences to beauty. In life, we have our high and lows..so be strong! and do not go down so easily. Second, It seems as though you have absolutely misconceived Islam and Allah. Allah is loving, caring, gentle, and kind..yes, but there is a reason for our existence on earth, which is a test of our faith in Allah. We are constantly faced with the challenges of life, when all is well, we often forget to thank Allah. Yet, when we suffer hardships, we immediately question Allah’s existence. This is natural, and very common dear. You aren’t alone, you have to be strong and understand the bigger picture in life. Did you ever hear the story of the prostitute who helped the dying door. She was granted jannah. Why would Allah grant her paradise for a dog? Well, it isn’t just a dog, that is Allah’s creation and Allah loves all creations regardless of what species, etc. My dear, you have allowed a lot to build up without confronting the issues and without seeking answers. It seems as though you have made a hasty decision based on fear rather than logic. By no means am i judging you, i am in no position to judge, no one is granted paradise over another person. It is in Allah’s choice to decide which creation is worthy of paradise. Allah doesn’t blindly punish his creations, good people will always be rewarded. You must understand that you should acknowledge the existence of Allah first, in order to be granted paradise. For example, how can you expect to get government assistance money, if you do not acknowledge the existence of the government? Please take some time and think about all of this. Ignore all the negative things you are being bombarded with. I wish you the best!
