Hadis

— Abu Umamah r.a

It is located about 90km from Kota Kinabalu and about 6 kilometres away from Kinabalu National Park and is renowned for its vegetable market which is open seven days a week. The beauty of Kundasang due to its  panoramic view of the Mount Kinabalu . It is about 1300M from sea level.

We landed at Kota Kinabalu Airport just after 1pm on 12 Nov 2009. Then, we met the person I arranged to rent a car (Waja @ RM130 per day) that I found in mudah.com.my. Normal rate if you were to rent from Car Rental Company is more than RM200 per day.

The rain was pouring heavily and it took us nearly 3 hours to reach Kundasang. The road is ok. Like Simpang Pulai to Cameron Highland. Can organise cycling event here – KK – Kundasang – Ranau – Tambunan – KK!

Only the next morning we were able to see the Mount Kinabalu. The view for the first time was breathtaking. The below is the view from our room.

Kinabalu Pine Resort is the biggest resort at Kundasang. We took 2 balcony-joining rooms at RM160 each. The price is inclusive of quite a good dinner and breakfast. Money worth spent.

The Pendang Jamboree broke the record as the quickest organised event of this year. Preparation and everything was done in less than a month. The event attracted 200+ riders.

The organiser managed to get cooperation from all authorities. Trek and traffic were managed perfectly by Marshall, Police, Rela and JPA3. Ambulance and Medic also available. Sufficient road signages provided. Mineral water, Pisang and 100+ were given t o riders.

Medals were given for the first 100 riders only.

The best food so far for Jamboree. The Masakan Kampung food was cooked on site. But sadly it was not enough for all riders. Maybe the earlier riders ate a lot.

The track is shorter than average Jamboree. Only 17km offroad. Not much climbing but a lot of pushing towards the end.

The weather – no one can control. Raining all the way. The heaviest rain in Jamboree so far for me.

Other complains received, the riders should get more for RM45 paid and at least cycling jersey. Too many prizes given to winners. Should allocate more for lucky draws.

    Some facts from my garmin:
    Distance: 32.9km
    Start time: 8.38am
    Total ascent/descent: 379 meter
    Calories: 1844
    15km On road/ 17km offroad

It is about 2/3 as tiring as BM Mengkuang Dam and a bit more difficult than Lembah Bujang Jamboree because of the rain.

To sum up, it was more like a race than a jamboree.

Click image for bigger picture. From the map, a lot of area can be explored to lengthen the track.

Starting Point. Not much pictures taken due to the rain.

This crazy lady Sandra drove 9 hours alone from Kuantan for this jamboree. She invited all to join Monsoon Ride

    Party time.

She converted to Islam a year ago and gained fame on youtube. She was 18 and from Australia. She gained interest in Islam while living in Indonesia.

She posted a lot of videos on Islam and she made a lot of friends and had a lot of fans.  Her story even appeared on TV in one of Arab country. She changed too fast and even engaged to a Pakistani. Friends around the world sent her gifts especially her friends from Indonesia. You can google kimdonesia to see her present on the net

I was one of her fan. I like converts stories. Story of converts really moves me. I always wonder how converts see the beauty of Islam. I even made a collection of converts years ago – http://daawah.com/links/islamconvert.html

All the sudden, her blog disappeared – http://kimdonesia.blogspot.com and her channel too – http://www.youtube.com/user/KimDonesia

Then, yesterday I found out that she left Islam. All previous accounts on youtube and blogspot were removed or deleted. She now has a new channel at http://www.youtube.com/lifeaccording2kim

She posted a video on why she left Islam. The first reason she said because of the death of her dog. I did not watch the rest of the video. That first reason make me realise how vulnerable people faith is. I just wonder what if we are tested by Allah SWT – how strong are we?

Most of her videos disappeared from the net except for a few:

Update: Now the new video explaining why she left Islam also removed – Quite a drama!

Bila search wikimapia dan google earth, berikut adalah lebih kurang coordinate starting point.

    N5 59 23.3 E100 37 39.5

Road to starting point masih tiada dalam MFM.

I was thinking to upgrade my sunglasses for a long time. I have been using Merida brand I bought from Soo Beng for nearly 2 years. At first,  I planned to buy Oakley Half Jacket. After talking to Nasir, he advised to go for Rudy Project.  Oakley more for fashion – he said.

I went to the shop at Star Parade shop to have a look and to feel it. The shop on the left at the main entrance.

Finally, I set to buy Rudy Project Rydon. Patiently searching in ebay for a few weeks and I managed to buy the set below for a few hundreds cheaper than here. Lucky me!

Paid on 26 Oct and arrived on 10 Nov. USPS took more than 2 weeks to reach Malaysia!

Normally year end school holiday is the most lucrative time for wedding photographers. But this time, not for me. I hardly had any inquiries. Just secured 1 job in December. Maybe now the equipments are cheap. Just around RM3k you can buy a body and a flash to start your photography career. A lot of photographers are in the market now offering competitive prices.

    Last July wedding.

    Part-time Wedding Photographer

I think I’m quite good at shooting weddings. I never had any dissatisfied clients. I often delivered more than I promised. My package is also reasonably priced. I even give money back guarantee. But I think what I lack is promotion. Help me!

Also thinking about quitting and  getting rid of my gears by end of this year!
