  Which Photobooks?

  Currently I came across 4 online printing companies that offer similar products. They seem to have similar software and printed products. All of them have fan page on facebook.

  If you were to order one, please monitor them on facebook and try to wait for at least 40% discount offer before you order.

  Which one should I choose? All the same quality products. The only difference is the price.

  Langkawi International Mountain Bike Challenge 2010

  Initially registered with intention to participate but after considering the hassle to bring the bike to Langkawi and other things, me, Tandop, Man, Qoyum and Jat just went there to watch how this so called international event was handle and organised.

  We took the first boat from Kuala Kedah at 7.15 and rented 3 motorbikes.

  I’m not going to write anything about how this world class event management company managed this event, lets the one experienced it tell the story.

  I just came here to shoot. I should have bring my 50mm instead of 24-105mm because of the cloudy day.

  I also came here to visit my grandmother at Padang Matsirat.

  Nibong Tebal Jamboree 2010 photos

  As usual, I rode my bike and shoot at NTMTBA10. From the very beginning, placing and medal were not my target. I have to carry nearly 2kg of my Canon 40d and 50mm 1.4 and stopped at more than 10 locations for photo shoot and still many people asked me why I was left so far behind. Don’t they see a huge camera bag strapped on my waist!
  

  I enjoyed the ride and making friends while taking photos. That’s what I believe jamboree is all about. Racing is a no-no for me.

  Canon Service Discount

  I sent my canon cameras a few times for some sort of repair. The latest one was the shutter replacement of my Canon 20D.

  They quoted me RM400+. Too expensive for old camera. Then I asked for discount. Straight away they gave me 50% discount from the labour charge.
  

  Morale of the story: Don’t be shy to ask for discount from Canon Service Centre.

  Thompson Trail – TQ Tandop

  I don’t want to write about the trail again. It was written here and the track is the same. Anyway, the organiser, Mizi of Danish Event put up this event enjoyable for everyone.

  If you want more pictures of you during jamboree or any cycling events, look for tandop and ride with him.

  Error 99 – Canon 40D Shutter Failure

  I never thought that I would be so unlucky. I like second hand stuff but I am quite particular on its condition.

  I got a very good deal on Canon 40D. Expired warranty but like new with just 6,xxx shutter count.

  But I only shot around 200 when the error 99 came out. Switched off and restart, still the same. Removed the battery and restart still the same. Change the lens, still the same.

  Finally send to Canon by Skynet on Sunday and paid RM376 for shutter replacement and got it back on Friday by GDex . Good job Canon Peremba Square.

  The morale of the story – Shutter can fail on you any time regardless the 200,00 clicks it claimed. DSLR does not consume film but does not mean it is free every time you click.

  Rumah Tok Su and Taman Rimba for Outdoor Photoshoot

  Last Feb 14, I shot this couple for Asmady Ahmad. This outdoor was after reception at their house at Jalan Sultanah.

  It is not about the pictures but the location that I wish to share.

  Home Studio

  12 pieces of passport size photo required by MRSM on registration day.  It will cost nearly RM20 at the shop. You can save if you know how. DIY only cost RM1.

  Photo shoot located at the kitchen during my son having dinner and my wife washing dishes. Edit by photoshop.

  Dream lens – Canon 24-105mm

  Bought this lens from ebay on Monday last week and it arrived today. I was aiming for this lens since it came out in 2005. Only now I can afford it.  Second hand not new but like new.

  USPS Express Mail about a couple days faster than USPS Priority Mail. Pos Laju is USPS Express Mail agent in Malaysia.

  

  Now the question is which lens should I bring to jamboree? 24-105 is the best in range but it weights 670gram compare to 290gram for 50mm 1.4. Or maybe bring my Canon 10-22mm which is 385 gram? Anyway, watch for me at SIT.
