  Kedah Jamboree 2010 Kecundang Sebelum Bermula

  Atas sebab-sebab yang tidak dapat dielakkan, Kedah Jamboree 2010 yang dijadualkan berlangsung pada 13 November 2010 dibatalkan.

  Tidak perlu dinyatakan sebab secara details dan kami tidak mahu salahkan mana-mana pihak. Bagaimanapun, keputusan diambil dengan berat hati dan kami merasakan ianya terbaik untuk semua pihak terutamanya rakan-rakan riders.

  Dari awal lagi kami mengutamakan riders dan kepuasan riders kami dahulukan dari yang lain. Bila kami rasakan kami tidak dapat laksanakan seperti riders expectation atas sebab-sebab tertentu, lebih baik kami menarik diri.

  Semua wang pendaftaran yang dibayar kepada akaun saya akan dipulangkan kembali.

  Tolong jangan call untuk mendapat penjelasan, cuma sms (0194418308)  atau email (webmaster@adcipta.net) detail bank untuk refund. Nyatakan nombor akaun bank dan nama akaun dan nombor peserta seperti dalam senarai.

  I wish…

  I were him. Who have the guts to leave everything behind and cycle to see the world. Currently he traveled more than 4,000 km in 3 months.  He got to see beautiful countries, meeting different people and experiencing different culture.
  

  Considering the responsibilities, families and other things that tied me down, maybe in another life I could do that.

  Kedah Jamboree 2010 is open for registration

  This jamboree haunted me for a long time. The hectic of the last year event make me wonder if I ever want to get involved again.

  Last 2 months I was informed this year Kedah Jamboree is on. I tried not to get involved but like what people said, you can run but you cannot hide.

  At last, the least I could do was not to be the head of the working committee.

  After lobbying and sms-ing, I managed to pushed Pudin TTG as the leader this time who is full with energy. Even that, I still involved in much of the things.

  This year the limit is 1,000 only. Long sleeve jersey will be given. About the same material and design as RUN10 and not like last year. Details are in kedahjamboree.com

  Langkawi International Mountain Bike Challenge 2010

  Initially registered with intention to participate but after considering the hassle to bring the bike to Langkawi and other things, me, Tandop, Man, Qoyum and Jat just went there to watch how this so called international event was handle and organised.

  We took the first boat from Kuala Kedah at 7.15 and rented 3 motorbikes.

  I’m not going to write anything about how this world class event management company managed this event, lets the one experienced it tell the story.

  I just came here to shoot. I should have bring my 50mm instead of 24-105mm because of the cloudy day.

  I also came here to visit my grandmother at Padang Matsirat.

  Nibong Tebal Jamboree 2010 photos

  As usual, I rode my bike and shoot at NTMTBA10. From the very beginning, placing and medal were not my target. I have to carry nearly 2kg of my Canon 40d and 50mm 1.4 and stopped at more than 10 locations for photo shoot and still many people asked me why I was left so far behind. Don’t they see a huge camera bag strapped on my waist!
  

  I enjoyed the ride and making friends while taking photos. That’s what I believe jamboree is all about. Racing is a no-no for me.

  Thompson Trail – TQ Tandop

  I don’t want to write about the trail again. It was written here and the track is the same. Anyway, the organiser, Mizi of Danish Event put up this event enjoyable for everyone.

  If you want more pictures of you during jamboree or any cycling events, look for tandop and ride with him.

  Simpang Pulai – Tanah Rata

  Friday, 16 July 2010, 9am, as planned, Man, Zam and me started riding from Simpang Pulai Bomba Station heading to Tanah Rata.

  It was all climbing after 5km. After 15km, Zam turned back to starting point and drove the car up. Zam turned from rider to support. TQ for all the drinks.
  

  Our first goal was to reach Kampung Raja. 60km ride took everything out of us. The first peak is 1,500m and then 7km downhill to Kg Raja. We finally reached Kg Raja at 3 pm and had our lunch.

  Then 10km slow ride to the highest peak of 1,629M at Equatorial Hotel and finally we were rewarded with downhill to Tanah Rata.
  

  Driving at this route is tiring enough, imagine riding 10km per hour average with never ending climbing!
  

  Some facts from my garmin:
  Distance: 81.20km
  Start time: 9.03am | Finish time: 5.50pm
  Total ascent: 2,092m, descent: 687m
  Calories: 4940 (the most burned in a day to date)
  

  Weather: Hot, cloudy and some drizzling. 3 liters of water and 2 bottle energy drink.
  

  

  

  Bomba Station – spacious place to park. Nice food stall just in front of it.

  

  After 20+ km, Nasir stopped us and feed us with Nasi Lemak

  Camera for Campaign For A Lane

  “Take note that there will be photographers stationed at various points along the routes to take pictures. So don’t try to take pictures whle you are riding, what you need to do is to focus on your ride as your safety is paramount and when the event is over, visit this site to see your photos.”

  What I wish to highlight here is – the above statement was written in last year event. And I did not bring my camera and as promised, there were many photographers along the way.

  The later issue was, you have to pay for your photos and the sad thing was I cannot find any of my pictures. I just wondering why they cannot do something like this for riders to download their photos?

  I will definitely bring my own camera or maybe DLSR for this event, if I join. Many beautiful scenery to capture.

  Titi Besi of Gunung Jerai

  Saturday, 2.30 pm, 11 of us on the mission to climb to Titi Besi from Titi Hayun through 1,200 steps of Tangga Kenari. It was part of Great Adventure training.

  Titi Hayun approximately 100m from sea level. The rest hut at the end of Tangga Kenari is 280m from sea level and Titi Besi is 750m from sea level.

  We took 2 hours to arrive at Tangga Besi and 1 hour to descent.

  Mission accomplished. I was ok on that day but a day after, I can feel the muscle pain.
